Fresh from the Andrew Clermont International Supper Club in Tamworth, Marilla Homes brings together some of her fabulous musician friends for her only Melbourne pub gig on this tour from the UK!

Tim Woodz was at his first Tamworth Supper Club, and Mandy Connell has been a long time friend and musical collaborator. Other guests are likely to appear too. Marilla loves collaborating with other musicians, to bring more variety and magic to each gig.

Marilla Homes

Australian Folk Music Awards 2025 finalist in the People's Choice category, Marilla recently released her latest album 'Marilla and Friends', featuring many renowned musicians around the world, and produced and played on by Robbie Long at Funky Lizard Studio in Newcastle, NSW. Originally from Melbourne, Marilla has made England her home for over a decade, and regularly tours back to Australia. Known for her powerful voice and entertaining story telling, Marilla weaves passion and humour into a fun and engaging show.

"A performance not to be missed, just breathtaking" Sinclair's Gully,  Adelaide Fringe Festival

"Marilla Homes is a divine opera-trained singer who now lives and performs in England and has added comedy to her already captivating stage presence." Andrew Pattison, Burke & Wills Festival.

Mandy Connell

Connell’s arresting presence is what stands out. Singer and guitarist, she is popular for her writing, and loved for her stagecraft, but it’s her breadth of passion for the broader ‘folk’ genre which makes her unusual in Australia. A songwriter with a guitar, Connell has an edge more reminiscent of Margaret Roadknight or Norma Waterson than of Kate Bush or Joni Mitchell. Having worked with a well-known five piece ‘traditional’ band (Stray Hens) reworking contemporary and trad folk ballads, Connell is at home with big production, but continues to work solo or with simple lineups of bass and drums or bass and lead guitar, presenting her own work locally and Internationally with producers in Melbourne (Luke Plumb, Myles Mumford) and the UK.

Tim Woodz

On his world tour of the East Coast, wandering minstrel Tim Woodz travels in his van, playing shows between Melbourne and Cooktown. He has supported Tex Perkins, Damian Cowell (TISM) and Jack Davies, performing songs about laundromats, possums, tall trees and backyard cricket in a storytelling style that captures nostalgia and off-beat humour. Becoming a regular favourite at a number of festivals, including Savannah in the Round and Tablelands folk festival, Tim has a humble showmanship that inspires the type of creativity and excitement that you can take home and heat up for later!

Les Thomas

Les Thomas, winner of the Troubadour Award for keeping the flame of protest alive in folk music, is a songwriter of rare conviction and craft. With a warm, resonant voice and finely wrought lyrics, he brings audiences songs that speak to our times while carrying the timeless spirit of folk honest, human and unafraid to tell the truth.
