Jim Green

Jim Green is a Melbourne guitarist/singer steeped in the Irish/Australian storytelling tradition. Lively finger-style guitar picking meets smooth melodic singing in stories of lost ships, great escapes and the lure of the ocean. A well known vocalist/instrumentalist in the Melbourne band scene, Jim has played with The Rambling Roses (featuring Luke Plumb), The Gleaners (a lively instrumental/dance group) and the Ramshackles Blues Band.

Though having worked mainly within the genres of Irish folk through to American roots music, Jim has managed to record 3 solo albums of ambiguous influence, along with numerous other albums with bands and solo artists.  

His latest solo release Take To The Water (out 2024) has it’s feet planted firmly in Jazz and Blues, whilst reflecting a folk sensibility.
