Inspired by Cajun, Zydeco and Blues the band comprises of:

Billy Abbott (Crawfish Dave, Dili Allstars) Lead vocals/soulful clarinet/Sax and snappy washboard: Billy hales from the land of the Rain and Whiskey (Scotland) and has played all over the world including Edinburgh festival, Byron Blues, East Timor Tour of duty and brings a wealth of experience and his own style of musicality.

Paul Jonas (Pheasant Pluckers, Fire & Theft to name a couple) Violin and vocals: one of Melbourne’s finest players. He melds his unique style of bowing and picking to produce a truly original sound that you can kick your heels up to.

Nick Thorpe (Prayerbabies) Double Bass/vocals: adds his drive to the sound with his beat. His angelic voice stand on its own along with adding to the overall sound with beautiful harmonies.

Geoff Le Blanc (the Cajun Aces) brings true Cajun royalty with his beautiful accordions and some original bayou inspired tunes.

Paul Dalby (Prayerbabies) guitar and vocals is an understated guitar genius. He adds originality and virtuosity and although he likes to be in the shadows his playing makes him stand out.

Michaela Burke..(Celtic City Sons) a drumming dynamo who brings years of experience and a wonderful female touch to the engine room.

 

Harmaniax are Australia's premier Cajun/Zydeco band. The six piece band bring their individual musical talents and experiences playing at festivals such as Port Fairy, Folk Rhythm and Life, Thredbo Blues, Nhil Music fest, Newport Folk Festival and Cobargo Folk Festival. They are fast becoming one of Melbourne’s worst kept secrets with a residency at Bar Open, regular spots at the Rainbow Hotel, The Royal Oak, The Pinnacle and north side’s favourite pub, the Lomond. The music appeals to all ages and has a visual experience you won't forget.
